PM says foreign investment in Russian economy at $11 bln H1

MOSCOW, Oct 18 (PRIME) -- Foreign investment in the Russian economy amounted to about U.S. $11 billion in January–June, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Monday.

"Business activity is recovering. Investment demand was the key driver. Core capital investment increased, and direct foreign investment amounted to about $11 billion in the first half of the year," Mishustin said.

Accumulated investment in the economy amounted to about $185 billion, he said, adding that international organizations confirmed positive forecasts for the development of the Russian economy. The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund raised the estimate of economic growth in 2021.
